Advisory Board

Our advisory board draws its members from academia, industry, consulting firms and private practice, all working together to achieve the department’s mission.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide feedback for improvement to the department on its vision, mission, strategic goals, program objectives and accreditation assessment results.
  • Promote NC State CBE within industry, advocating for internship, co-op, and job opportunities, as well as corporate sponsorship of our research, educational and other programs.
  • Support our students and faculty through student mentoring and seminars, senior design project formulation and advising, special projects (such as the department’s 100 year anniversary celebration), scholarships, and gifts, as well as advocating for the department within the alumni network.

Nuclear Engineering Department Advisory Council

The Nuclear Engineering Advisory Council (NEDAC) provides observations, advice, feedback and support to the Department Head and faculty of NC State’s Department of Nuclear Engineering. There are 36 members, each with terms of 5 years and these appointments are staggered. Membership terms are subject to renewal by the Department Head upon consultation with faculty and consent of the target NEDAC member.

Nuclear Engineering Undergraduate Advisory Committee

NC State Nuclear Engineering Undergraduate Advisory Committee (NEUAC) are representatives from utilities, vendors, national laboratories, and government agencies. They work with the Department to chart the direction of the nuclear engineering undergraduate program. It is through this partnership that the program remains on the cutting edge of nuclear science and technology, preparing the next generations of innovators and leaders. The Committee meets at least once a year and the members include:
