Fundraising Campaign
We are excited to announce the launch of the Nuclear Engineering Graduate Student Association (NE-GSA) Endowment Fund, an initiative designed to provide ongoing support for graduate student success. Unlike general department funds, this endowment will be managed by students and dedicated entirely to enhancing the graduate experience, funding opportunities that directly impact student development and career readiness.
Days Off Ammendment
To propose amendments to the graduate student handbook aimed at preventing student burnout, supporting mental health, and ensuring dignified working conditions and fair treatment for graduate students. These changes address systemic concerns and promote a healthy work-life balance for all graduate students, including Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Research Assistants (RAs).
Graduate Student Stipend Report
Graduate student pay is among the most important issues for graduate students across campus. Graduate student payment is inconsistent across campus and significantly impacts graduate students’ mental health, lifestyle, and overall graduate-student experience. Thanks to extensive effort on the part of LASA, there is now an extensive report on the state of graduate student pay and how this is affecting graduate students at NCSU. They also included several recommended actions to help address the problems around graduate student pay.
