About NE-GSA
Who We Are
The Nuclear Engineering Graduate Student Association (NE-GSA) is composed of elected student representatives who champion and support graduate students in the NC State Nuclear Engineering Department. Our mission is to foster a strong graduate student community, represent student interests, and enhance the academic, professional, and social experiences of our members.
Our Mission
You can find our constitution at GetInvolved. NE-GSA is dedicated to:
- Support – Serving as the voice of graduate students in faculty meetings, regular discussions with department administration, and the university-wide Graduate Student Association (GSA). We address key concerns such as increasing stipends, reducing non-tuition fees, and graduate handbook reforms.
- Community – Organizing events and initiatives that bring students together. NE-GSA hosts social gatherings, facilitates workshops, invites speakers for the graduate seminar, and helps advertise PhD defenses. We also maintain a directory of current graduate students on the department website to strengthen connections within our academic community.
- Outreach – Providing resources, networking opportunities, and professional development while promoting nuclear engineering and engaging with the broader scientific community.
