I am a second year PhD student in nuclear engineering, and my research focuses on molten salt spectroscopy, liquid metal thermophysical properties, and materials characterization. I perform optical fiber experiments in liquid gallium to determine the thermal conductivity through frequency domain thermoreflectance measurements. My newest project is terahertz spectroscopy of molten chloride salts for the aiding of the molten salt thermophysical properties database and molecular dynamics model validation.
I grew up in Carver, Massachusetts, and went to school on Cape Cod. I have a passion for developing advanced reactor technologies, and a strong desire to lower the carbon footprint of the energy industry, while also making energy more readily affordable and available. When I’m not in the lab, I can usually be found climbing at the Triangle Rock Club or playing disc golf.
