Her research interests involve nuclear security and retrospective dosimetry applications. Melody has previously worked as staff in NC State&#8217;s Department of Nuclear Engineering for work supported by the DOE, and she has engaged in research under the advisement of Dr. Tomita involving developments for a cavity ring-down laser spectroscopy system for tritiated water analysis while in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, Melody performed undergraduate research at UNC under Dr. Lopez in the Nanoscale Optical Materials Lab, and has worked as a Data, Analytic, and Insights intern at CAS (Chemical Abstract Services \u2013 A Division of the American Chemical Society). Additionally, Melody has former experiences working in psychology research under Dr. Neupert, Dr. McLaughlin, Dr. Feng, and Dr. Foster at NC State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Melody is working towards her PhD in Nuclear Engineering with first a Masters of Nuclear Engineering under the advisory of Dr. Hayes.
