Melody is working towards her PhD in Nuclear Engineering with first a Masters of Nuclear Engineering under the advisory of Dr. Hayes. Additionally, Melody works as staff in the Department of Nuclear Engineering for work supported by the Department of Energy’s Consent-Based Siting Consortia for spent nuclear fuel.

Melody performed undergraduate research at UNC under Dr. Lopez in the Nanoscale Optical Materials Lab, and has worked as a Data, Analytic, and Insights intern at CAS (Chemical Abstract Services – A Division of the American Chemical Society). Additionally, Melody has experience working in psychology research under Dr. Neupert, Dr. McLaughlin, Dr. Feng, and Dr. Foster at NC State.
