{"id":304,"date":"2020-10-15T11:46:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-15T15:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ne.ncsu.edu\/prag\/?p=304"},"modified":"2023-07-31T16:56:55","modified_gmt":"2023-07-31T20:56:55","slug":"doe-arpd-fast-tracks-x-energy-to-build-xe-100","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ne.ncsu.edu\/prag\/news\/2020\/doe-arpd-fast-tracks-x-energy-to-build-xe-100\/","title":{"rendered":"DOE ARPD Fast Tracks X-energy to build Xe-100"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/ne\/articles\/us-department-energy-announces-160-million-first-awards-under-advanced-reactor\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> that it has selected <a href=\"https:\/\/x-energy.com\/media\/news-releases\/x-energy-awarded-80-million-department-of-energy-advanced-reactor-demonstration-program-ardp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X-energy<\/a> to receive an initial $80 million awarded through the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/ne\/nuclear-reactor-technologies\/advanced-reactor-demonstration-program\" target=\"_blank\">Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program (ARDP)<\/a> to build a four-module Xe-100 nuclear power plant that can be operational within seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the\u00a0NCSU\u2018s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ne.ncsu.edu\/news\/2020\/nc-state-nuclear-joins-x-energy-as-recipients-of-the-doe-adrp\/\" target=\"_blank\">subaward<\/a>, Dr. Mihai A. Diaconeasa of the PRA Group will support X-energy\u2019s efforts by leading the Xe-100 PRA model development to support the design and licensing activities.
