Congratulations to Dr. Alexandar Lindsay, alumnus of NC State’s Department of Nuclear Engineering alumnae, and recipient of the prestigous Presidential Early Career Award (PECASE). He is 1 of 7 Idaho National Laboratory (INL) scientists and 1 of 400 nationally who received this award. His work on the open-source MOOSE framework and underlying libMesh library have resulted in major contributions to fusion energy and molten salt advanced reactors.
Lindsay completed his doctoral degree in 2016. His research focused on Coupling of Plasmas and Liquids.
Dr. Lindsay has made a career out of redefining the capabilities of scientific computing. His work at NCSU introduced a new area of physics to the MOOSE framework, and he continues to increase the capabilities of this powerful tool at INL. This recognition is well earned, and well deserved. Also, Alex is a super cool dude.
