Faculty –
- Benjamin Beeler, Assistant Professor & INL Joint Faculty, was elected to the executive committee of the Materials Science & Technology Division (MSTD).
- Igor Bolotonov, Professor, was elected to the vice chair/chair-elect position of the Thermal Hydraulics Division (THD).
- Mihai Diaconeasa, Assistant Professor, was elected to the vice chair/chair-elect of the Nuclear Installations Safety Division (NISD).
- Lisa Marshall, Assistant Extension Professor & Director of Outreach, Retention & Engagement, was elected Vice President and President-elect of the Society.
Graduate Students –
- Madeline Lockhart, PhD student, was elected to the executive committee of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Policy Division (NNPD).
Alumni, Advisory Board Members and/or Postdoctoral Research Associate –
- Harsh Desai, Chief Commercialization Officer at Zeno Power, and American Nuclear Society (ANS) board member was elected treasurer of the Society. Desai is also a member of our advisory board.
- Temitope Taiwo, Director of the Nuclear Science and Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory. Taiwo is a member of our advisory board.
- Ishita Trivedi, Computational Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory, was elected to the vice chair/chair of the Education, Training & Workforce Development Division (ETWDD), and vice chair of the Young Members Group (YMG) and Reactor Physics Division (RPD).
- A. Leigh Winfrey, Dean of the School of Engineering at Maritime College, State University of New York. Winfrey is an alumna and a member of our advisory board.
- Zeyun Wu, Assistant Professor in mechanical and nuclear engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University. Wu was a postdoctoral research associate with CASL.
ANS continues to be a professional organization of scientists, engineers, and other professionals devoted to the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. Its more than 10,000 members, from 50+ countries, come from diverse technical disciplines ranging from physics and nuclear safety to operations and power, and from across the full spectrum of the national and international enterprise, including government, academia, research laboratories, and private industry. Making it all succeed are a Board of Directors, 20 standing committees, 19 Professional Divisions, 41 Local Sections, 58 Student Sections, liaison agreements with more than 30 non-U.S. nuclear societies, and a headquarters staff of about 35 people.
