Small delegation from the College of Engineering (COE) at North Carolina State University (NCSU) visited the University Polytechnic of Valencia (UPV), Spain from March 22-27, 2018. The delegation was led by the Dean Louis Martin-Vega of COE, NCSU and included Kostadin Ivanov (Department Head of Nuclear Engineering) and Maria Avramova (Director of Consortium for Nuclear Power).
The purpose of the visit was to discuss and review the existing agreements between NCSU and UPV on exchange of students and faculty as well as on joint research initiatives with emphasis on enhancing the cooperation of COE, NCSU and UPV. The delegation visited the UPV international relations offices, School of Industrial Engineering, the School of Design, and the Department of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering. These visits included meetings and discussions as well as tours of experimental facilities, classrooms and computational laboratories.
The Dean Louis Martin-Vega presented a seminar/lecture on COE and Engineering Education and Research, which was well received and acknowledged.
Because of this visit, new opportunities have been identified to increase the student and faculty exchange between COE, NCSU and UPV and to improve the research cooperation.
