For the past two years, NC State has celebrated newly tenured faculty with a luncheon to recognize the significant achievement that receiving tenure represents. When this was started, faculty reported that they were very moved by the fact that NC State would celebrate this milestone with them in this way, and they appreciated hearing from other recently tenured faculty about what the tenured faculty role means for them.
This year luncheon will be held on Monday November 7 from 11:30 to 1:00 in the Coastal Ballroom in Talley Student Center. The Provost will be making introductory remarks, and Dr. Jacob Eapen, Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering, is invited to be a featured speaker at the luncheon. Dr. Eapen has accepted the invitation and the faculty tenured in 2015-16 would be delighted to hear from him about what receiving tenure has meant (and what he anticipates it will mean) for his leadership, his research, his teaching, his role in advancing the careers of others, and in his own personal and professional development.
