Specifically, we used neutrons to irradiate HEA samples at the Advanced Test Reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory. My research involves advanced materials characterization before and after irradiation damage of HEA samples. Following mechanical testing, we plan to use MOOSE to model the mechanical mechanisms involved in the irradiation of HEAs. This research aims to shed light on neutron damage mechanisms and how irradiation affects the mechanical properties of HEAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-wolfpack-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-caeb92777f5beca55aece05b3f79001f\">Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering&nbsp;at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. During my time as an undergraduate I did research on the effect of print parameters on the performance of additively manufactured SS-316L for nuclear applications. In this research, I examined location specific points using microhardness tests, finite element analysis, and SEM of SS-316L samples printed with laser powder bed fusion. I have presented my work at multiple undergraduate research conferences at Boise State and the University of Maryland. I have also participated in the McNair Scholar program which is a preparatory program for graduate school for under represented groups. I am a recipient of the&nbsp;University Nuclear Leadership Program Scholarship and served as vice president of the American Nuclear Society Boise State Student Chapter.
