Biography
Dr. Amanda M. Lietz will be an incoming assistant professor in our department this coming fall 2022. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Applied Optical and Plasma Sciences Department at Sandia National Laboratories. Her research is focused on computational modeling of low temperature plasmas, and investigating the role of radiation transport, gas flow, and different pathways for reactive chemistry. Dr. Lietz received her PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan in 2019 and a B.S. in Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was the recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Towner Prize for Outstanding PhD Research.
