Dr. Zilan Xiong

Atmospheric pressure plasma has attracted huge attention in all over the world especially in plasma medicine nowadays. This technology uses atmospheric pressure low temperature plasmas for sterilization, wound healing, root canal treatment, fungal nail treatment or even cancer therapy. Many researches on fundamental studies as well as clinic trials have been conducted and the results are excited and promising. Today she is going to give us a presentation of ‘Atmospheric pressure plasmas in biomedicine’ based on her years of related researches. Firstly, she will briefly talk about the fundamental studies of plasma technology, plasma physical and chemical diagnosis, and then focus on the applications of plasma treatment of onychomycosis and plasmas for root canal disinfection. Finally, she will share some prospects about future researches.
