Our research group, Computational Mechanics and Materials, is dedicated to advancing nuclear materials through cutting-edge computational methods. We focus on modeling and simulation of materials, emphasizing applications related to, but not limited to, nuclear reactors. Our work helps understand material behavior under various conditions and improves material design and performance in engineering applications.

 

Our Expertise

Modeling and Simulation of Materials

We use advanced computational techniques to model materials at different scales, from atomic to macroscopic levels, allowing us to simulate complex phenomena such as plastic deformation, fracture, and phase transformations with high accuracy.

Applications in Nuclear Reactors

We develop models to predict the performance and longevity of materials used in nuclear reactors under extreme conditions, ensuring safety and efficiency. This includes studying nuclear fuels, structural materials, and protective coatings.

Proposing New Models

We develop new theoretical models based on fundamental physics and mechanics, validated through experiments and simulations, to enhance scientific understanding and provide tools for engineers to design better materials.

Writing and Implementing Computational Codes

We create software tools and algorithms to simulate material behavior under various conditions, essential for researchers and engineers to analyze and predict material performance in real-world applications.

Developing Advanced Algorithms

We develop advanced algorithms to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations, enabling the study of larger systems and more intricate phenomena. This includes parallel computing techniques, optimization methods, and machine learning algorithms.
