Research
Ziyu’s research focuses on the development and application of Bayesian inverse uncertainty quantification (IUQ) methods in the nuclear engineering area. His goal is to develop a mathematical representation of model uncertainty term in Bayesian IUQ using machine learning algorithms. This research can give more reliable IUQ results by adding model uncertainty term in the Bayesian IUQ framework. He is now working on the OECD/NEA project ATRIUM, which aims to perform practical IUQ exercises. In addition to this, his research also includes sensitivity analysis, dimensionality reduction, modeling and simulation of thermal-hydraulic systems, and scientific machine learning applications in these areas.
