Research
Lauren is currently working on applications of machine learning to nuclear engineering systems. She is working on a project with Dr. Alexander Heifetz at Argonne National Laboratories using a Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) Autoencoder to validate measurements from an optical fiber temperature sensor in a liquid sodium test article. She is also working on a project aimed at utilizing machine learning to make spectral predictions of time-dependent lithium emission spectroscopy imaging, with the goal of being able to more accurately monitor tritium production in nuclear systems.
