Research

Aidan’s research is currently focused on predicting Crud-Induced Power Shift (CIPS) in pressurized water reactor cores. Much of this relies on convolutional neural networks to predict which assemblies will be susceptible to CIPS using calculated core data from the reload analysis. The overarching goal of this work is to provide a lightweight and accurate tool for future core designers to assess the crud probability of a proposed core design.
